"Beyond the Thank You: Recognition as a Strategy and a Skill That Ignites Performance and Results"

---

Recognition is too often misunderstood as “fluffy” or optional—when in reality, it’s a fundamental human need, a powerful leadership skill, and a strategic lever for performance. This session challenges the common myths that hold recognition back and reframes it as a vital driver of culture, connection, and business success.

Andrew Bishop, President of RecogNation and lead contributor to the revamped Certified Recognition Professional® (CRP) curriculum with Recognition Professionals International, will share real-world insights and guide participants through RPI’s Seven Best Practice Standards® for building meaningful, sustainable, and impactful recognition programs.

Attendees will explore how recognition—an after-the-fact display of appreciation—functions as the most affirming form of feedback one can provide. When delivered with intention, recognition clarifies what success looks like, reinforces what the organization values, strengthens relationships, boosts confidence, and drives both engagement and results. As today’s workforce craves purpose, connection, and appreciation more than ever, recognition has emerged as a must-have leadership skill.

This session delivers practical strategies, tools, and takeaways to help leaders and organizations unlock the full power of recognition—as a skill, a culture builder, and a strategic lever for business performance.

Through this session, you'll be able to:

  1. Understand the most common myths and misconceptions about recognition in today's workplace

  2. Learn how psychological theories translate into practical and impactful recognition strategies
