"The Mentor Mindset: Growing Your Public Sector Workforce"
---
The public sector employs approximately 14.5% of the U.S. workforce. However, several factors, including an increasing wage gap between the public and private sectors, contribute to a challenging level of turnover. The VECtor approach (efforts to provide a work environment where the workforce feels valued, engaged, and connected) can yield a more positive workplace experience, impacting recruitment, retention, and stakeholder partnerships.

One way for leaders to help provide an improved workplace experience to their direct reports, interns, and colleagues is to employ the mentor mindset. The mentor mindset, combined with its aligned actions, ignites leaders to elevate others by actively taking on shared ownership of their growth through practical and relevant experiences, networking collateral, and access to influential spaces.

This session will help you turn on your “mentor mindset” and hone-in on ways you can inspire professional growth in others. We will explore the benefits this brings for the public sector, its current and potential future workforce, and even external stakeholder partnerships.

Through this session, you'll know how to:
-
Foster Workplace Engagement – Create an environment where employees feel valued, engaged, and connected to improve retention, recruitment, and stakeholder relationships.
-
Adopt a Mentor Mindset – Support professional growth by actively mentoring others through guidance, networking, and access to opportunities.
-
Strengthen the Public Sector Workforce – Develop and sustain a resilient workforce by investing in mentorship for current and future talent.
