"Fix This House: Rebuilding Your Organizational Culture"

---

Fixing a broken organizational culture is much like restoring an old house: it requires an honest inspection, thoughtful planning, and intentional action. In this session, Celeste Bell will take you on a journey to uncover how to rebuild your organization’s culture from the foundation up, drawing parallels to the challenges and triumphs of home renovation.

Starting with an inspection, we’ll identify if your culture has "good bones" (lived values and strong foundations) or if it’s riddled with "termites" (toxic behaviors and misaligned leadership) that threaten its stability. From there, we’ll explore how to draft the "blueprints" for the culture you desire by defining core values, behaviors, and organizational goals. You’ll learn why having the right people in the right roles is critical because, just like in construction, you wouldn’t ask your plumber to install a new roof.

Celeste will also highlight the importance of clear communication throughout the process, as miscommunication is often the root cause of delays and breakdowns in both construction and organizational change. We’ll discuss how to provide employees with the tools and training they need to thrive in the newly designed culture, followed by strategies to measure and adjust as your cultural transformation takes shape.

Whether your culture needs a fresh coat of paint, new flooring in the form of innovative programs, or a complete teardown, this session will equip you with the steps to build a strong, sustainable, and thriving culture. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work, because fixing culture, like fixing a house, is worth the effort.

Through this session, you'll learn:

  1. Leaders set the tone for culture. Attendees will leave with a practical framework to define their own leadership identity, aligning their actions with the values they want to see in the organization. This clarity helps leaders lead with authenticity and consistency, fostering a culture of trust and accountability.

  2. Excellence is a choice that drives sustainable progress, while the pursuit of perfection often leads to burnout and stagnation. Attendees will learn how to model a mindset of continuous improvement and adaptability, empowering teams to embrace challenges and innovation without fear of failure.

  3. Gain tools to perform an honest assessment of their organization’s culture, identifying strengths ("good bones") and weaknesses ("possible termite infestation"). They’ll leave with actionable steps to address toxic behaviors, realign values, and implement small, meaningful changes that drive cultural transformation.
